This is an M.A course, it aims at introducing students to the contemporary theories of translation. Through an analytical and critical presentation, the course introduces students to various approaches in Translation Studies, highlights the similarities and differences between these approaches, and sheds some light on the major concepts and problems in translation theory, such as the role of the translator, the source and target audiences or text receivers, the translated text, controversial translation concepts and ways of dealing with translation problems.
First semester 2012/2013
  
This is an  M.A course in which students put into practice their theoritical knowledge in translation. They have to translate general texts from French into Arabic and from Arabic into French. They learn to analyze a text in order to choose the appropriate approach of translating, they learn also lexical relations, they compare French and Arabic texts from both a syntactic and a stylistic point of view.
First semester 2012/2013
  
This course helps the student to pass gradually from the short to the long text by concentrating on the complex sentence( relation  of time, cause, effect, concession,etc.) that guarantees the cohesion of any text.
